MLL Getting a New Logo and More

Major League Lacrosse has announced that they will undergo a rebranding project that will take place before the start of the 2019 season. This rebranding move is just the latest change that the MLL has made this offseason along with increasing the salary cap, changing the season start date, and many other things.

The biggest part of this rebranding project that the MLL is about to undergo is that they will be rolling out a new logo. Since the MLL started play in 2001 the league has had the same logo and the time has come to change it up. We saw the same thing from the NLL a few years back as well.

In addition to revamping the logo the MLL will also revamp the website and branding on marketing and communications, as well as league branded apparel. These actions have been much needed, especially the revamping of the website.

MLL commissioner Sandy Brown said, “After speaking with players, sponsors, and fans throughout last season, we are refocusing our brand to align with our consumer.”

The MLL worked with Nielsen Sports & Entertainment to conduct research into ways that the league could better grow their fanbase and better understand their brand. Part of the research was through a survey that was sent out through the teams and league social media accounts and generated a lot of responses.

As the league announces this rebranding effort we should see it start to take shape this winter as the MLL season grows closer. This looks like it's one of the leagues pushes to move the league in a forward and positive direction.
