About three weeks ago the FIL held a press conference in Langley, BC where they announced the initial list of 20 nations that Will compete in the 2019 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships (WILC) next September.

Since then we have seen one roster be announced and a new nation was added to that list of initial 20. Mexico will join the rest in Langley next September as they are set to compete in the 2019 WILC. The biggest WILC ever has gotten just a little bit bigger as there will now be 21 teams competing.

This will be the first ever international box lacrosse event that Mexico has ever competed in. Mexico's lacrosse scene has been growing as they have been a FIL member since 2009. There are both men's and women's leagues in Mexico. A few universities are playing now as well.

Box lacrosse hasn't seemed to have much traction in Mexico until the past few years when they started a box league, Liga Nacional de Indoor Lacrosse. It will be exciting to see Mexico in Langley next September and see what they can do.
