Wagner has hired former Monmouth assistant coach Bill McCutcheon as their new head coach. This hiring comes after Matt Poskay resigned as the head coach at Wagner to become the head coach at DIII Montclair State last month.

McCutcheon comes to Wagner after being an assistant at Monmouth for their first five years of play. During his time at Monmouth McCutcheon mainly coached the offensive side of the ball. He would help build the foundation of that Monmouth program as the Hawks won the MAAC in 2017 and reached the NCAA tournament, that was just the fourth year of the program.

Prior to his five year stint at Monmouth, McCutcheon was the head coach at Millburn High School in New Jersey and an assistant at his alma mater, Chatham High School.

McCutcheon played one year at Johns Hopkins before transferring to Towson where he spent his last three years of eligibility and graduated in 2009.

With this hire there are now four assistant coach openings across the DI lacrosse landscape. Mount St. Mary's has two openings while Richmond and Monmouth each have one.
