CUFLA Week 7 Recap: Brock Takes Down Western

Week seven was headlined by another classic battle between Brock and Western. This time Brock would take the game as they got the 10-9 victory in overtime. Much like the last matchup in September it was a close game pretty much the whole way. Brock would score the last goal of regulation to force the overtime period and then Jordan Gillis would score an unassisted goal to make secure the 10-9 victory with less than a minute left in overtime.

The result of the game makes things all tied up between Western and Brock for the top of the West. It also puts McGill in the number one spot in Pat Gregoire's CUFLA Power Rankings. Brock is second and Western drops down from one to three.

Some games to take note of from last week were Trent defeating Bishop's 12-11, Brock beating Toronto 15-4, and Ottawa hanging in there against Trent despite the loss. Trent would defeat Ottawa 14-10.

Week 7 Leaders

Kurtis Woodland - M, Brock

The midfielder had a good week for Brock as he helped the Badgers to a 2-0 record in week 7. In their first game against Toronto Woodland would help his team secure the 15-4 victory as he had 5 points (1G,2A) in the victory. On Sunday Woodland would notch up 4 points (3G,1A) in the Badgers big win over Western.

Scott Dominey - A, Nipissing

Dominey had yet another great performance last week as he helped his team get a win in their only game against Carleton. In Nipissing's 23-6 win over Carleton Dominey put up 12 points (8G,4A).

Chris Boushy - A, Queen's

In Queen's lone game this week Boushy was able to put on another impressive performance. Despite the 20-9 loss to Trent Boushy would have 7 points (5G,2A). That is second highest single game goal total of the year and the second time he has scored 5 in a game.
