CUFLA Week 6 Recap: Two Left Unbeaten

Through six weeks of play there are just two teams that can claim the title of unbeaten. Those two teams that still remain unbeaten are McGill, in the east, and Western, in the west. Both teams currently sit at 8-0 on the year. In week 6 action McGill went 2-0 as they defeated Bishop's 12-6 and then handed Trent their first loss on the season by a score of 16-14. Western defeated Laurier 21-6, Toronto 21-6, and Guelph 9-8 during week 6 play.

In the west the playoff race is heating up even more as that group in the middle of the pack just keeps shifting almost each week. After last week's games Laurier has moved into third place and Toronto has dropped down to fourth place. Guelph is sitting in fifth place. All three of those teams each have three wins. As we get into the last two weeks of the season wins will obviously be key for each and every team, especially those on the bubble of getting a lower or higher seed in the playoffs.

Week 6 Leaders

Cody Ward, Western

The attackman would help to lead his team to a 3-0 record last week as he put up 12 points overall. In Western's win over Laurier on Wednesday Ward had 6 points (4G,2A). Ward had had 5 points (5G) against Toronto and 1 point (1G) against Guelph.

Fredrick Hartley, Ottawa

Hartley had a great performance this week as he helped his team get a 15-7 victory over Carleton on Saturday. In that game the attackman would have 9 points (6G,3A). That is a season and career high for Hartley in points in a single game.

Cole McWilliams, Trent

McWilliams had a big week as he helped his team to a 1-1 record in week 6 while putting up 9 points overall. On Saturday he would have 6 points (4G,2A) in Trent's 20-9 victory over Queen's. On Sunday in their loss to McGill he would put up 4 points (2G,2A).
