The New England Blackwolves have found their goalie as a result of a big trade with Buffalo this afternoon. The Buffalo Bandits have traded goalie Alex Buque to New England in exchange for a first round pick in the 2021 NLL draft.

Buque was acquired by Buffalo from Colorado last offseason on August 1st of 2017. Buque played in all 18 games for Buffalo and had a .771 save percentage. He was left unprotected along with Buffalo's other two goalies, Dave DiRuscio and Zach Higgins, during the 2018 expansion draft. Buffalo still has DiRuscio and drafted Devlin Shanahan in the 2018 NLL draft.

Buque is a huge get for New England as they lost Aaron Bold to Vancouver in free agency. Buque should be the starter but will may have to compete with Warren Hill and Doug Jamieson. The Blackwolves also drafted Ethan Woods with the 31st overall pick in the 2018 NLL draft.
