On Wednesday Both Michigan and Army hired Volunteer assistants. Michigan hired Chris Harren as a volunteer assistant and Army named Rick Lewis as a volunteer assistant for the 2019 season.

Chris Harren is the second addition to the Michigan coaching staff this summer after Justin Turri was hired as an assistant. Harren comes to Michigan after being a senior manager at 3d Lacrosse in Denver as well as in his hometown of Houston.

Harren has also coached at the high school level in both Colorado and Texas. He got his coaching start after graduating from Marist, where he played, in 2012. Harren served as a strength coach and faceoff coach for the Red Foxes.

Army has hired Rick Lewis as a volunteer assistant for the 2019 season. Lewis comes to Army after being the offensive coordinator at Lambert HS in Georgia. The Atlanta native helped Lambert capture their fourth state title while at the helm of the offense. Lewis was voted GHSAA Assistant Coach of The Year in 2018.

Lewis played for Ohio State where he was a captain and graduated in 2015. He was drafted in the 205 MLL draft by the Atlanta Blaze and the 2015 NLL draft by the Georgia Swarm.
