Over the course of this week there have been over forty MLL players sign contracts with various team and many have been multi-year deals. All of this comes after the changes that the MLL announced on Monday. We would see even more signings on Friday as Dallas and Ohio announced a slew of signings while Boston also announced a few signings as well. Two of the biggest signings of the day came out of Chesapeake and Denver as they re-signed some big time key players.

The Dallas Rattlers announced that six of their rookies from the 2018 season had signed contract extensions to stay with the franchise through the 2020 season. Of the six signings included Dallas native Christian Carson-Banister who was drafted by Dallas in the 2018 supplemental draft and was a reserve goalie for the Rattlers in 2018.

Dallas also signed midfielder Cody Radziewicz and attackmen Jordan Dowiak. Radziewicz had 11 goals and 11 assist as he appeared in 12 games as a rookie. Dowiak remained on the inactive list for the 2018 season and Dallas hopes to see him contribute during the 2019 season.

Defensemen Jake Pulver and Chris Keating were two other guys that also signed extensions with Dallas. In 2018 Pulver only appeared in one game as he had 2 ground balls. Keating did not see any action at all for the Rattlers this past season. Faceoff man Hunter Morelan signed an extension after not seeing any action last season as he was behind star studded Drew Simoneau.

The Ohio Machine signed four more guys to contract extensions on Friday after already announcing a few earlier in the week. Three players signed extension through 2020 and one signed an extension through 2021.

Attackman Brendan Bomberry signed a two year extension with Ohio as he has yet to see any action with Ohio. Midfielder Ryan Walsh and defensemen Dominick Calisto also signed contract extensions from 2020. Walsh appeared in four games with the Machine last season after coming over from Boston. He ended the 2018 season with 1 goal and 2 ground balls.

During his second year in the league in Calisto saw action in seven games with Ohio as he had 2 ground balls and 1 caused turnover. Faceoff man Kenny Massa signed a contract extension with Ohio through 2021. Massa went 108-226 and also put up 2 goals, 1 assist, and had 66 ground balls during his rookie campaign in 2018.

Boston signed two guys to contract extensions in midfielder's Alex Zomerfeld and Matt Bertrams. Zomerfeld and the Cannons have agreed on a one-year deal following a 2018 season in which he appeared in three games but scooped up just one ball. Bertrams has signed a two-year deal with the Cannons after his second year in Boston where he saw action in six games and had 2 assist along with scooping up 5 ground balls.

One of the biggest signings of the day was MLL Co-Goalie of The Year Niko Amato signing a three-year extension with the Chesapeake Bayhakws. Amato has been one of the best goalies in the league over the past couple of years. Amato stepped it up again in 2018 as he just continues to get better each season. Last season he helped lead the Bayhawks to the semifinals where they lost to the eventual champion Denver Outlaws. Last season Amato recorded 168 saves with a .537 save percentage.

The Denver Outlaws had a big signing on Friday afternoon as well. The 2018 champs re-signed Zach Currier after his second year in the league. During 2018 he only saw action in seven games. Part of that was due to the fact that Currier and the Rochester Knighthawks made it to the NLL Finals which limited his MLL season. Currier is an all around playmaker as he ended the 2018 season with 12 goals, 10 assist, and 30 ground balls.
