CUFLA Week 1 Recap: Double OT Thriller, Three Teams Start off 2-0

It was a great opening week of CUFLA actions as we saw several fantastic games that included many impressive performances. One of the headlining games of week one was McGill defeating Nipissing 13-12 in a double overtime thriller where Nipissing came back from down 9-4 at halftime to force overtime. McGill would get the win in the second overtime.

Some other highlights of week one include four teams starting off undefeated as Guelph, McGill, and Bishop's start off 2-0 while Toronto is 1-0 after week one. 

Week 1 Leaders

Scott Dominey, A, Nipissing 

The junior attackman would lead the league in just about every category after two impressive performances in week one of the season. In Nipissing's loss against McGill Dominey had 4 points (2G,2A). Against Carleton Dominey put up 14 points (7G,7A) to help lead his team to their first victory of the season. Overall in week one Dominey had 18 points (9G,9A) as he leads the league in all offensive categories. 

Fredrick Hartley, A, Ottawa

Hartley had two impressive performances this week as he helped the Gee-Gees start off their season with a 1-1 record through the first week. The attackma, Hartley, had 5 points (2G,3A) in his teams loss to Bishop's to start the weekend. Against Carleton Hartley put up 6 points (1G,5A) to help lead his team to victory. After week one Hartley boast 11 points (3G,8A). 

Ian Connors, G, Bishop's 

The sophomore out of Nova Scotia split time in cage with Matthew Wolf as he helped the Gaiters go 2-0 in week one to start the season. Through two games Connors leads the league in goals against average with 5.83.
