Conners Joins Bonnies Coaching Staff, UMBC and Loyola add Transfers, Fall Ball News

Gill Conners will join Randy Mearns inaugural coaching staff at St. Bonaventure as he will replace Doug McSorley. Conners comes to St. Bonaventure from Siena where he had a three year coaching stint coaching defense, goalies, and substitution game. Conners got his coaching staff at Brown as a volunteer assistant in 2015. He played in college at Quinnipiac from 2012-14 after playing at Onondaga Community College from 2010-2012. At Onondaga Conners won two NJCAA Championships. 

Former Rutgers midfielder Josh Jordan has transferred to UMBC. The Luenburg, MA native played 5 games at Rutgers last season as a junior. Jordan scored 4 goals in 12 games as a sophomore in 2017 and 10 goals as a freshman in 11 games. 

LSM Matt Huges has transferred to Loyola after his freshman year at Mercer. During his freshman campaign at Mercer Hughes had 6 points (4g,2a) in 14 games. Hughes also had 28 ground balls and 30 caused turnovers. Hughes was named to the SoCon All-Freshman team. 

While we don't know every team's fall ball schedule there are a few scrimmages that have been released so far. These scrimmages include some high-profile teams going head to head in October. 

Yale will face Team USA on October 6th at US Lacrosse head quarters in Sparks, Maryland. The Bulldogs will have a scrimmage against Notre Dame the following week. 

Another scrimmage at US Lacrosse HQ in Sparks, Maryland will feature Utah and UMBC on October 20th.

Boston U. will scrimmage Michigan in St. Louis in October, but a date has not yet been released.
