Svec and Higgins Hired as Assistants at Brown

On Friday Brown head coach Mike Daly announced that he had filled the assistant coaching voids with two former head coaches in John Svec and Mike Higgins. 

John Svec comes to Brown after serving as the head coach at Siena from 2012-2018. In his time at Siena he would lead the Saints to a MAAC championship in 2014 and was named MAAC coach of the year in 2012 and 2014. Prior to his stint at Siena Svec was an assistant at Hobart and Albany. As a player Svec was a defenseman for Loyola where he graduated in 2001. 

Mike Higgins heads to Brown after a seven year stint as the head coach at DIII Trinity College. While at Trinity he lead the Bantams to their first NCAA tournament appearance in 2012. Prior to his stint at Trinity Higgins was the defensive coordinator at Tufts from 2005-2008. Higgins was also a head coach at Thayer Academy and Concord Academy in Massachusetts, as well as Lick Wilmerding Academy in San Francisco. As a player Higgins won DII national championships with Hobart in 1990,1991, and 1993.
