Lacrosse All Stars has made their big official announcement regarding the 2018 Lacrosse All Stars North American Invitational tournament (LASNAI). The LASNAI is a box lacrosse tournament held every year on Onondaga Nation territory. The tournament is set up similar to the Ales Hrebresky Memorial Tournament that takes place every spring in Prague, Czech Republic. The 2018 tournament will mark the third LASNAI box tournament.

Some of the information in the big official announcement from Lacrosse All Stars included some teams, dates, venues, and rules for the 2018 LASNAI tournament.

The 2018 LASNAI tournament will take place over three days from September 27th-29th as the first day will be round robin games on Thursday. Bracket play starts Friday and wraps up on Saturday the 29th. The tournament will be played under FIL rules.

This year their will be two venues that will host the LASNAI as opposed to one like the past two years. Onondaga Field House (Tsha’ Thoñ’nhes) and the Onondaga Nation Arena (Tsha’ Hoñnoñyeñdakwha) will both play host to the 2018 LASNAI tournament. I really couldn't think of any two better venues or location to play a lacrosse game or host a tournament. After all it is the homeland of the sport.

There will be thirty plus teams from at least six different countries at the 2018 LASNAI. This will make for 100 games over the three day period. All games will be streamed through Lacrosse All Stars for FREE on Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube.

Some of the teams that have been announced for the 2018 LASNAI include Gold Star Tel Aviv, LCC Radotin, Czech Republic Development Team, Team USA White, and Team USA Blue. More teams will be announced at later dates. If you want to play but don't have a team you can play for an LAS House team

Some of the new things in 2018 include the schedule and new teams. So, first off you may have noticed that Team USA has two teams in the LASNAI this year. Team USA is using the 2018 LASNAI as a final step in the tryout process for the 2019 team that will head to British Columbia, Canada for the 2019 FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championships.

The tournament will still follow the same format as the Ales Hrebresky Tournament and will place teams in two groups, Gold and Silver. This format is sure to bring some exciting action every day just as we see at Hrebresky every spring. The draw for the 2018 LASNAI will be held at the Frank Menshner Cup in Prague, Czech Republic on September 8th.
