Hasen Signs Extension With Rochester

Rochester Knighthawks have signed head coach Mike Hasen to a two-year contract extension which will make him the longest tenured coach in franchise history. Hansen will be entering his ninth season as head coach in 2018-19.

During his time in Rochester Hasen has compiled a 75-63 regular season record over eight years. Hasen has compiled a 15-7 postseason record in six postseason runs with the Knighthawks. Hasen has been a big part of the Knighthawks organization and the NLL over his first eight years in Rochester.

In 2011 he was the first rookie head coach to win NLL Coach of The Year. Hasen also helped lead the Knighthawks to three straight NLLs Champion Cup's. That run from 2012-2014 is still one of the best runs we have ever seen by a team in the NLL.

This past season in 2018 Hasen lead the Knighthawks to a 10-8 regular season record and a birth in the playoffs. Rochester would go to the NLL Finals where they lost to the Saskatchewan Rush in the final game of the three game series.

After this move I have no doubt that Rochester can make it back to he NLL Finals again in 2019. This also may give them some more leverage to re-sign goalie Matt Vinc who is one of the big free agent names that has yet to sign with a team.
