Vancouver Rounds Out Coaching and Management Staffs

The Vancouver NLL franchise has announced that they have rounded out their coaching and management staffs after more recent hirings. The franchise announced a new GM and Head Coach about a month ago now. On Thursday the franchise announced the hiring of more local Vancouver talent to complete the new staff for the 2019 season after the franchise was bought by the Canucks.

These new hirings in Vancouver include Ken Thomas as Assistant General Manager, Rory McDade and Clayton Richardson as Assistant Coaches, and Dan Perreault as Assistant Video Coach.

General Manager Dan Richardson said, "I am excited to have such a strong leadership group with deep roots in the local community and with decades of coaching and management experience at the highest levels."

Ken Thomas is joining the Vancouver franchise as Assistant General Manager after serving in the same role with the New Westminster Salmonbellies. During his time with the Salmonbellies Thomas was under the toolage of now Vancouver General Manager Dan Richardson. Thomas also had a great playing career that includes a 2001 Mann Cup with the Coquitlam Adanacs. Thomas is a member of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Rory McDade is joining the Vancouver franchise as an Assistant Coach. McDade come from the New Westminster Salmonbellies where he was the Head Coach in 2018. He was also coached the Burnabay Lakers for four seasons. McDade has NLL coaching experience as he was on the coaching staff of the Minnesota Swarm in 2015. McDade will be responsible for the offense in Vancouver.

Clayton Richardson returns to Vancouver as an Assistant Coach. He was the assistant GM and defensive coach for the Vancouver Stealth from 2014-16. During his playing days he helped the New Westminster Salmonbellies reach four Mann Cups. He will be in charge of the defense in Vancouver once again.

Dan Perreault is another man returning to Vancouver as he will take over as an Assistant Video Coach. Perrault formerly served as the Head Coach of the Vancouver Stealth from 2014-16 and was an assistant for two years before. As a player Perreault was able to capture two Minto Cups with the Burnabay Lakers in 1977 and 1978. Perreault is also a member of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
