Facing an Australian team that was plying their best game of the tournament the USA was able to pull away in the second half and get the 14-5 win to advance to the Championship where the USA will face Canada on Saturday.

This would be a pretty good game as Australia was able to hang in there with USA for the majority of the game, especially in the first half. Team USA would use their firepower to pull away in the second half and deface that Australian defense and offense that seemed to be slowing the game down.

In the first quarter we would see some pretty back and fourth play. USA would get the scoring started off as Michael Ehrhardt would score a great transition D-Pole goal that got the crowd fired up. Australia would counter as Nigel Morton did his thing on the offensive end and tied things up at 1-1. Both the USA and Australia would each score one more time before the quarter would come to a close. Tom Schreiber would score for the USA and Thomas Graham would score for Australia.

The second quarter is where we would start to see the separation between USA and Australia but the Aussies were able to hang in there a bit wit some great play on both sides of the field. Rob Panell, Ned Crotty, and Matt Danowski would start off the second for the USA with a three goal run. This would create some more separation as it pushed the USA out to a 5-2 lead. However, Australia would be able to put together a string of good possessions to make it a one goal game. Lachlan Walker and Chris Robertson would each score one to cut the USA lead to 5-4. USA would finish out the half with a Jordan Wolf and Ned Crotty goal that would put them up 7-4 at the half.

The USA would start out the second half strong as they seemed to control the pace of the game as they started to pull away with this one. The USA would start the third with another Michael Ehrhardt D-Pols goal. Rob Pannell and Ryan Brown would also get a goal a piece during the USA's three goals run. Australia would be able to stop the bleeding with a Christopher Pulmb goal to give them five. Unfortunately, that would be their last goal as it seemed they struggle gaining quality possessions after that. Marcus Holman would net one to end the third with the USA leading 11-5.

The fourth quarter would be all USA as they would be able to close out the game with ease. Marcus Holman would have two goals and Ryan Brown would have one. Those three goals would closeout the game and secure the 14-5 victory for the USA.
