The biggest game of pool play lived up to the hype and it was a thriller. USA would have the lead the entire way until Canada tied it and took their first lead late in the fourth. USA would be able to regain that lead in the last few minutes of the fourth and thus get an 11-10 win over rival Canada.

This was back and fourth from the opening whistle to the final horn. The USA would start off strong, which really helped them in the end. Rob Pannell and Jordan Wolf would start off the scoring early to put the USA up 2-0. That would be the score to end the first as there was a lot of back and fourth play and no one was able to capitalize after those first two goals.

Canada would start to get things going in the second as Curtis Dickson had his first goal of the game to start the second. The USA would counter with two goals by way of Matt Danowski and Marcus Holman. That put the USA up 4-1 midway though the second. Ryland Reese would score for Canada before the USA would attack again with Ryan Brown and Joel White. As the second quarter winded down we would see Canada start to light up as Ben McIntosh and Jeff Teat would close out the half. USA would hold a 6-4 lead at the half.

The second half was even better than the first. We would see it get pretty chippy starting in the third and that would carry over to the fourth as well. In addition to the physical play we would see a plethora of goals and great plays on both ends of the field.

Ryan Brown would start the third with his second of the day as he painted that cage perfectly. Canada would get going again with two great goals from Jeff Teat and Zach Currier. That would be Teat's third goal and Currier's second goal of the day. Those goals would also make it a one goal 8-6 game.

The USA would be able to go back up by two as Ryan Brown netted his third goal of the game to get a hat trick. That goal from Brown would be the last of the third as the USA would be able to subdue the Canadian attack and hang onto an 8-6 lead heading into the fourth.

The game really heated up in the fourth as there were bodies flying, sticks slinging, and goals everywhere. It really was a perfect end to a great game, well not for Canada.

Rob Pannell would get his second goal of the game to put the USA up 9-6 early in the fourth. Canada would really put on the heat after that Pannell goal. It would go Wes Berg, Jeff Teat, Ben McIntosh as Canada would go on a three goal run to take the lead 10-9. All of those goals would be very impressive as Canada used some great ball movement and fast break opportunities.

The USA would see Matt Danowski score with about four minutes left to tie the game at 9 all. Rabil would get the ball and shake his defender to give the USA an 11-10 lead with about a minute left. At the very end of the game Greg Gurelian would win the faceoff and Canada would call a stick check. Because his stick we deemed illegal Canada got the ball back but Joel White would force the turnover and the USA would walk away 11-10 victors over Canada.
