Iroquois Nationals Top England 18-7

The Iroquois would be able to over come an early game deficit and use a big offensive performance to defeat England 18-7.

England would start out on a three goal run as Ryan Sweetman and Ryan Huns got the scoring started. The Iroquois would have a big answer as they went on five goal run to close out the first quarter. During that run the Iroquois looked unstoppable as Lyle Thompson and Randy Staats would have two goals a piece and Kyle Jackson would have one.

The second quarter would see the Iroquois continue their offensive success. The would continue their goal scoring streak and stretch it to 12 goals. Austin Staats would record his first of the game as Lyle Thompson would net a hat trick. Ty Thompson, Miles Thompson, Brendan Bomberry, and Chase Scanlan would all aid in the scoring as well. Iroquois really dominated the second quarter as they shoved the ball right down England's throat for a good portion of the quarter.

England would finally answer as Ryan Huns would score at the end of the half. That would make it a 12-4 Iroquois lead heading into halftime.

It would be a slower third quarter as there was a lot of great defense being played on both sides of the field. England got things started scoring wise with Christian Scarpello goal. The Iroquois would be quite for long as they played some great defense but then would break out as they scored two goals. Randy Staats would get his third of the game and younger brother Austin Staats would record his fourth. England would finish the quarter with a Peter Hayes goal. That would give the Iroquois a 14-6 lead heading into the fourth.

Iroquois would go on four goal run to start the fourth quarter and effectively put this game out of reach. In the run Austin Staats would get his fifth of the day. Also, Tehoka Nanticoke and Frankie Brown would record goals to close out the scoring for the Iroquois. England would have a little bit let in the tank as Alex Russell scored the last goal of the game. The Iroquois would walk away with an 18-7 victory, their first of this tournament.
