Both these teams were coming into the championship bracket after great performances in the group stage. Latvia and Ireland had impressed many but one would have to eventually fall today. Ireland would be able to overcome a Latvia second half comeback to get a 12-7 win to move on in the championship bracket.

Ireland would start off very hot in first as they had a lot of offensive possessions. Ireland would use those possessions to go on a four goal run in which we would see four different scorers. Aaron Cahill, Drew Wichmann, Taylor Wallace, and Corey McMahon would all find the back of the net for Ireland in the first. Towards the end of the quarter Latvia would start to pick things up as we would see them get on the board Tlajis Lasda. That goal from Latvia would make it a 4-1 Ireland lead heading into the second quarter.

In the second we would see Ireland continue their impressive offensive play, but Latvia was looking much better despite the deficit. Edward Frost would start the scoring off to make it a 5-1 Ireland lead early in the second. Latvia would counter with a Gints Gutmanis goal to get Latvia's second goal of the game. We would see both teams have some good possessions but the offensive firepower remained on Ireland's side. To end the half Edward Frost would net two consecutive goals to put Ireland up 7-2 at the half.

Latvia would start to put it all together as a little bit of a comeback would begin mounting in the third. Ireland's Luke Palmadesso would start the scoring in the third to make it 8-2 Ireland. We would then see Latvia get going as they would score three goals to end the quarter. Latvia's offense was running on all cylinders as the ball movement was superb and Latvia would have some great goals. We would see Christopher Zarnis, score two and Andris Doktors score as well for Latvia. Ireland would get another goal in the thord by way of Andrew Myers. That great offensive performance by Latvia in the third would make it 9-5 Ireland heading into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth we would see both teams continue to play very well as Latvia was still going very hard trying to secure a comeback win. That offense was attacking every chance they got but Ireland would still dominate most of the possession time.

Latvia would get two goals in the fourth courtesy of Girts Sprogis and Andris Doktors. Ireland would net three from Sean Gibson, Corey McMahon, and Taylor Wallace. That would close out the game and secure the 12-7 win for Ireland.
