Canada Runs Past Scotland in Victory

In this Blue Pool match up Canada would unload again, this time on Scotland. The Canadians lit up the scoreboard as the secured a 22-3 win over the Scots.

Canada would come out of the gate hot as they just kept building on their already impressive performance. They just kept piling the goals on all day with their impressive ball movement and goals scoring ability.

Scotland just couldn't get enough possessions offensivley to make much noise. Their defense did play very aggressive and really improved as the game went on. Scotland even had a few good shots as they attacked the cage every chance they got. They eventually would find the back of the net.

Canada would get the scoring starting early as "Superman" Curtis Dickson netted an inside goal to kick things off. Canada would continue to roll with much ease in the first quarter. Canada would have eight different goal scorers in the first as Mark Cockerton, Ben McIntosh, Kevin Crowley, Zach Currier, Tre LeClair, Josh Byrne, Curtis Dickson, and Jeff Teat would all score to give Canada the 8-0 lead.

We would see much of the same in the second quarter as Canada continued to roll. Mark Matthews would start the scoring off in the second as he got his first of the game. Curtis Dickson, Mark Cockerton, and Kevin Crowely would follow as they all got their second. Tre LeClair would notch his second and Ian MacKay would get his first of the game. Before the buzzer could sound Mark Cockerton would net a hat trick in the final seconds of the half. All that spectacular offense would push Canada out to an 14-0 lead at the half.

Scotland would see minimal possessions which lead to them not having many offensive looks at all. On the defensive side they showed some promise as they seemed to get more aggressive as the half went on. They were very aggressive as they forced some turnovers at the end of the half.

Canada would continue to put up goals in the third as Mark Cockerton would start the scoring off. Cockerton would get his third of the game. Curtis Dickson would follow with two great goals that would give him his 3rd and 4th on the day. Canada was moving the ball as well as ever as they pushed out to a 17-0 lead going into the fourth.

Scotland had a few really great defensive plays in the third as well as some great shots. They were able to get some good possessions but would come up empty handed.

In the fourth Scotland would finally get a goal as Luke Laszkiewicz would get the first goal for Scotland. Canada would soon get back to business as Jeff Teat and Josh Byrne would score to make it 19-1. Ben McIntosh and Josh Currier would score to make it 21-1. Mark Cockerton would make it 22-1 but Scotland had some left in the tank. Scotland would go on two goal run with Colin Uyeki and Luke Laszkiewicz. Those two goals would close out the game as Canada would walk away with a 22-3 victory.
