Canada Out Talents England in Opening Win

Another Blue Pool game that was pretty highley anticipated like every game in this pool. Unlike many origionally thought this game would start pretty slow. In the first quarter we would see Canada get out to a 3-0 lead. Jeff Teat would have two goals and "Superman" Curtis Dickson would have the one, which was the first goal of the game. It was a slower start for both teams as there was some good defense being played by both squads.

Canada would really pick up the pace in the second quarter as we would see them push out to a 7-2 lead by halftime. "Superman" Curtis Dickson would do his thing as he notched a hat trick. Mark Matthews and Josh Byrne would also contribute to Canada's offense performance. England would be able to get two goals from Alfred Scarpello and Ryan Sweetman. Those two goals are all that Canada's stellar defense would allow England to get.

The domination by Canada would continue in the third as the scoring and impressive defensive performance. Josh Byrne would get the scoring started for Canada as he got his second goal of the day. Alfred Scarpello would get England's lone goal in third, his second. Canada would get two more goals in the third from Tyson Bell and Jeff Teat who netted a hat trick. England would have two long possessions late in the quarter but couldn't finish on either of them. That Canada defense lead by Brodie Merrill was just too much for England. Canada's offense would lift them to a 10-3 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Latrell Harris and Jake Withers would close out the scoring for Canada in the fourth. England would finally get something going late it the game as Josh Sherry-Brennan, Nicholas Watson, and Ryan Hunns would all get goals. Those goals would make the final score line a 12-6 win for Canada. That scoreline is a lot closer than the game actually was as Canada just had more talent on both ends of the field than England did.
