According to Inside Lacrosse there has been a letter sent out to the Holy Cross team that states Peter Burke has been elevated to interim head coach for the 2018-19 season. This comes after months of uncertainty as head coach Judd Lattimore was placed on  administrative leave back in March.

Peter Burke has been on staff at Holy Cross for three seasons and lead the team along with Nico Capron after the Lattimore situation. Prior to his time at Holy Cross, Burke was an assistant at DIII Emmanuel College in Boston during 2015 as they won a GNAC championship and went to the NCAA tournament. At Emmanuel Burke was in charge of the offense as well as assisting in recruiting.

During his three seasons as an assistant at Holy Cross he helped lead the Crusaders to back-to-back Patriot League Tournament appearances in 2016 and 2017. The Crusaders recorded their first Patriot League Tournament win in 2017. Holy Cross finished the 2018 season with a 4-9 record and missed the Patriot League Tournament.
