MLL Week 10 Recap; Upset Wins From Florida and Boston, Cloutier Goes Off Again

It was another great Saturday night of MLL lacrosse. We saw some big upsets from Florida and Boston as well as great performances in every single game. We even saw a Sports Center Top 10 play!

Boston Cannons 15 vs New York Lizards 13

This was a tight one all game as the Cannons edged the Lizards to get a much needed win. Zed Williams really stepped up for Boston as he put up a career high five goals and one assist, six points. Williams really was the catalyst for the Cannons tonight on offense. Mark Cockerton would also step up big with a five goal performance of his own. Tyler Fioritio also played pretty well in cage for the Cannons as he had fourteen saves out of twenty seven shots on goal.

New York looked to Rob Pannell for offensive fire power as he was able to put up six goals. The Lizards offense saw much from Pannell, but the Boston D gave them some trouble as they held Will Manny scoreless. It really seemed as if the Lizards offense wasn't clicking like they can. Joe LoCasio had three goals while Rabil and Walters each put up two a piece. Drew Adams would have twelve saves off of twenty seven shots on goal.

Ohio Machine 13 vs Denver Outlaws 17

The Outlaws invaded Fortress Obetz on Blackout night to steal the show and hand the Machine another loss. The Outlaws got up early and never stepped off the gas it seemed. Chris Cloutier would lead the way for the Outlaws as he put up six goals. It wasn't all Cloutier as Mikie Schlosser also had a goos night putting up a hat trick, three goals. Dillon ward would have a pretty goo night in cage as he fourteen saves off of twenty four shots on goal. It really was another good performance for the Outlaws.

Ohio would see contributions on offense mainly from Marcus Holman and Peter Baum as they both had pretty good nights, despite the Machine's slow start. Holman would three goals and two assist, including a two-point goal, while Baum lead the team with four goals on the night. That would not be enough as the Machine dropped their sixth straight as they look to be almost eliminated from the playoffs already.

Charlotte Hounds 17 vs Florida Launch 21

WOW! I really didn't expect this result at all. The Launch really turned on the jets offensively as they upset the Hounds. Kieran McArdle and Dylan Malloy would be two huge contributors fo the Launch as they lead them to victory. McArdle had five goals and two assist as Malloy put up eight points as he had four goals and four assist. Those performances help Florida hold onto that huge lead they built early as they came out of the gates firing.

Charlotte struggled in the early part of this game but they were able to put it together at the end, despite the loss. Ryan Brown and Connor Fields really played good for the Hounds. Brown put up four goals including two big goals at the end to get them going again. Connor Fields had three goals and an assist in his second MLL game.

Atlanta Blaze 14 vs Dallas Rattlers 16

The Rattlers stay sitting atop the league as they get another win here tonight. Dallas would use a lot of their offensive fire power to build an early lead that they would be able to hold on to even as the Blaze came storming back. Dallas would see big games from John Ranagan who had five goals and Jordan Wolf who tallied three goals. It was another great display of offense for the Rattlers. John Galloway would have a decent day in cage as he had eighteen saves off of thirty one shots on goal.

Atlanta still can't pull it together as they took their fifth straight loss. However there were some shining moments for the Blaze, mostly last in the game. Deemer Class, Matt Gibson, and Connor Kelly would all have pretty good nights. Class and Gibson each tallied two goals as Kelly put up a career high four goals. The Blaze just came Blazing back too late as they get edged by the Rattlers.
