Season Recap: Marist

Many people had high expectations for coach Keegan Wilkinson and his Marist Red Foxes coming into 2018. After all, they have been one of the more premiere teams in the MAAC over the past couple of seasons. Many people felt that 2018 would be the same, but they couldn't have been more wrong.

The Red Foxes finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 3-12. In conference they went 2-4. That is not the Marist that we are used to seeing as they haven't had a losing season since 2014. In fact this is their worst season since 2008, in terms of wins and losses.

Marist seemed to really struggle in many areas this season. They didn't do so hot on either offense or defense. Looking at stats you see that they had a shooting percentage of .272 and only had 65 assist. Defensively they had 65 caused turnovers as a team. They did do good in the clearing game and at the faceoff dot. The Red Foxes went 213-251 in clears and won 156-192 faceoffs.

What's Next?

The Red Foxes will return a ton of players as they only lose 4 seniors to graduation. Of those seniors their biggest loss is Gannon Morrison who lead the team in points. They also lose starting goalie brain Corrigan who has been very good for this program and will be hard to replace. The good news fro Marist is that there were many underclassmen that contributed very heavily.
