The Bluegrass 6: Week 5

Another very exciting week of College Lacrosse took place and it was all across the Commonwealth. Teams in KY saw some losses but we also saw some very good wins as well.

Asbury (NAIA) (0-1)

The Eagles started off their season on Saturday and it didn't go exactly the way they expected it to. The Eagles lost SUNY Delh by a score of 8-7. One goal losses always sting real bad. The Eagles will look to rebound as they play Aquinas College next week

Bellarmine (DI) (2-4)

The Knights particapated in the Midwest Lacrosse Classic over the weekend. They took on Detroit Mercy and Marquette. Bellarmine lost to Detroit Mercy on Friday 11-5. On Sunday Bellarmine pulled off the upset and defeated Marquette in double overtime! The Knights will travel to High Point on Saturday to open SoCon play.

Centre (DIII) (3-2)

The Colonels had a tough loss as they traveled to take on Goucher College on Saturday. Centre ended up losing by a score of 10-9. Again, one goal losses really can sting. Their next game will be at home against Carthage on Saturday.

Transylvania (DIII) (0-2)

The Pioneers had their second game of the season this past weekend and I think they may want a do over. The Pioneers had a devastating 13-3 loss to Sewanee. That is tough to swallow but they will look to get back on track as they play Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday at home.

Union (NAIA) (0-3)

Union had two games this week and they dropped both of them. They lost to Michigan - Dearborn during the week by a score of 15-12. Saturday was no different as they ended up losing to Point 14-12. They will have their first ever road game as they take on Reindhart on Saturday.

University of the Cumberlands (3-1)

The Patriots continue to roll as they took down Point at home by a score of 11-2 on Saturday. They will look to continue their winning ways as they take on Aquinas College on Monday.
