Tanner's Top 25: Week 5

Maryland Athletics

  After week 4 we have a new number one in our rankings. This past week was full of upsets and these rankings have become to get very hard. It just proves that no one really know anything.

Others Considered: Bucknell, Marquette, Bryant, Brown

25. Boston U.
        The Terriers are looking good after they got a great win on the road at Air Force.

24. Cornell
        The Big Red didn't get a win this weekend but they almost upset Albany and they look really good. This might be the best Cornell team since Conner Buczek and Rob Pannell both left Ithaca.

23. Sacred Heart
        The Pioneers keep on rolling as they were able to defeat Providence on Saturday.

22. Penn
        Penn took a close loss to Penn State over the weekend but they are still playing well.

21. Jacksonville        

        The Dolphins almost pulled out the upset against Vermont but couldn't finish in OT.

20. Yale
        Yale really had to fight against Bryant to survive an upset.

19. Penn State 
        The Nittany Lions were able to get back on track this weekend with a narrow win over Penn.

18. Robert Morris        

        The Colonels continue to win as they got a W over High Point on Saturday.

17. Delaware
      The Blue Hens took their first loss against Villanova but it was a fight in Newark.

16. Ohio State
        The Buckeyes played in the Midwest Classic this weekend as they lost to Marquette on Friday and beat Detroit Mercy on Sunday by one goal.

15. Johns Hopkins        

        The Blue Jays were amazing on Saturday as they handed Princeton a loss and played very well.

14. Rutgers
        The Scarlet Knights defeated Brown by a slim margin on Saturday.

13. Georgetown
        The Hoyas dominated Mount St. Mary's last Tuesday.

12. North Carolina
        The Tar Heels barley survived St. John's as their D struggled but overall they are still good.

11. Vermont
        The Catamounts got a win over Jacksonville in overtime on Saturday.

10. Army
        The Black Knights opened Patriot League with dominance against Lafayette.

9. Virginia        

        The Cavaliers lost to Syracuse in their ACC opener, but it was a great effort and game.

8. Syracuse
        The Orange were able to defeat Virginia on the road to open ACC play.

7. Loyola        

        The Greyhounds defeated Towson and Holy Cross this week. They now own Baltimore.

6. Duke

        The Blue Devils dominated Richmond on Saturday.

5. Notre Dame
        The Irish lost a great battle against Maryland on Saturday.

4. Villanova
        The Wildcats keep on rolling as they defeated Delaware on the road to give the Hens their first loss.

3. Denver
        Denver beat up on Furman on Saturday and got another win.

2. Albany

        The Dane train was almost stopped by Cornell but they prevailed and got the win late in the game.

         The Terps looked really good as they defeated Notre Dame in a great battle on Saturday.
