NLL Weekend Preview : Week 17

Week 17 gave us some more great and exciting NLL lacrosse action. There were some pretty notable final scores, especially involving teams in the western division.
The first game that week need to talk about is Saskatchewan vs Rochseter. The Rochester Knighthawks beat the Rush for the second time this season. the final was 13-10 in favor of Rochester. Now, that is a close game but it's the second time that Rochester has beaten Saskatchewan this year and Rochester is the only the second team to beat Saskatchewan this season. Saskatchewan already has clinched a playoff birth so I wasn't too surprised at this result. Saskatchewan fought back and almost pulled off the upset, but Rochester held out and got the win to sweep the season series.
The other game we need to talk about is Colorado vs Vancouver. First off, the Colorado Mammoth raised John Grant Jr's jersey to the rafters before the game in a very winsome and emotional ceremony. It was one of the best things I saw in lacrosse over the weekend. Now, the game didn't go as planned for the Colorado Mammoth. The Vancouver Stealth only had one win coming into this game and if they lost they would be put of the playoff race, also Calgary had to win. Well, Vancouver is still in the playoff race as they surprisingly beat the Colorado at home on John Grant Jr. night. The final score was 13-12. It was close but you could tell that Vancouver wanted it more than Colorado. Also, this happened during the game. It is the best referee call of all time in my opinion.
Week 18 will hopefully brig us the same amount of excitement as we had last week in the NLL. We have four games on the docket for week 18 and they should all be pretty good ones. The Weekend Kicks off on Friday as Colorado travels to Toronto and the travel to Rochester on Saturday. The Colorado Mammoth will have to play with some tired legs s back to back games are always hard. Good news for them is that Rochester and Toronto aren't that far apart. Saturday will also see the Buffalo Bandits and New England Blackwolves go head to head in a key matchup in the east. Honestly, every game in the eastern division is key now because of how tight that playoff race is. Saturday night will cap off with a big game out west. The Calgary Roughnecks will travel to Vancouver to take on the Stealth. The Stealth will be looking to get a win to stay in competition for a playoff spot. This should be a very hard fought game.

Don't forget to get out and watch some NLL this weekend. Remember that even if you don't have an NLL TV subscription there is always a free game on Twitter. Also, if the Mammoth are at home and you have Altitude TV you get those games with the Man The Myth The Legend Teddy Jenner on the play by play and John Grant Jr. as sideline reporter. It's a hall of fame slate on those broadcast over there. The NLL Twitter game of the week for Week 17 is Toronto vs Colorado
