NLL Weekend Preview: Week 16

Lacrosse All Stars

All the exciting action of the NLL is back for week 16! We will have some more great lacrosse this week as we do every week in the NLL.
Monday was actually the NLL deadline date and it went by barley without a squeak. There was only one deal that was done on trade deadline day which is unusual in any sport. Most of the blockbuster deals were done earlier in this season this year.

 2018 NLL Trades

As I said, we only had one deal go down on the day of the trade deadline. The lone trade deadline deal this year was a deal between the Rock and the Rush. The Rock acquired forward Dan Taylor in exchange for a 3rd round draft pick in 2020. So, not much that went down as there was more action earlier in the season.

Big time names like Shawn Evans, Callum Crawford, Johnny Powless and Dan Dawson were all traded before the trade deadline occurred. This really speaks to how front offices feel about the guys that they currently have on their roster.

Week 16 Games

Friday, March 23rd

New England Blackwolves vs Buffalo Bandits

This game will be very important, as every game will be in the East. New England currently sits in first place in the east with a 6-5 record. The Bandits are in last place with a 6-7 record. If Buffalo can get this win they could possibly go up to 2nd in the east. There is just one game that separates the top and the bottom of the East. That is just insane. This game is very important for both teams.

Saturday, March 24th

Georgia Swarm vs New England Blackwolves

This will be another very important game in the every changing east. New England will most likely be tired from playing the night before. Georgia is currently sitting at 4th in the east with a 6-7 record. This will be very important for the Swarm if they want to move up in the east. As I have stated the east is crazy this year and anything can happen.

Calgary Roughneck vs Toronto Rock - Twitter Game of The Week

This is a big game for the west and the east. If Calgary wins and Vancouver loses in their game then Calgary clinches a playoff birth. In the east Toronto wants to get another win.they snapped their streak last week and they hope to continue winning this week. Also, Toronto would move up in the east with a win as well. This is also the Twitter Game of The Week!

Colorado Mammoth vs Vancouver Stealth

This is a very important night and game for both teams. Colorado will be retiring John Grant Jr.'s jersey and hanging it in the rafters at the Pepsi center. Vancouver needs a win just to stay alive in the playoff race. The place will be packed in Colorado because of John Grant Jr.'s jersey retirement. Vancouver obviously needs the win more, but it doesn't look likely.

Saskatchewan Rush vs Rochester Knighthawks

This should be a very good game. Both of these teams are considered the best in their division, and the best in the league for Saskatchewan. I really think this game could go either way. Obviously, Rochester needs tis win more considering how the playoff race looks in the east.
