Bluegrass 6: Week 7

University of the Cumberlands

Again, we had a great week of college lacrosse that included some great game in the Bluegrass.

Every team played this week and some teams got wins and some got losses. In all, every team was able to lear and grow as a team. Good luck to all these teams as we enter this new week.

Asbury (NAIA) (1-5)

The Eagles had one win and a two losses last week. They beat Point at home by a score of 9-8. They traveled down to Georgia and lost to Reindhardt 18-3, and lost a home to Madonna 31-5. It was a tough week for Asbury, but they have a week off before a game against Montreat next week on the 29th.

Bellarmine (DI) (2-5)

I wrote about Bellarmine in my SoCon Report post earlier in the week. Here is my Bellarmine take from that post:
The Bellarmine Knights kicked off SoCon play on the road at High Point. The Knights looked pretty good for most of the game until the 4th quarter. That is when they started to slag. The Knights lost 7-15. Up next for the Knights is a road trip to Jacksonville on Saturday.

Centre (DIII) (3-4)

The Colonels took a tough 14-7 loss against Birmingham Southern on Saturday. They will play North Central (IL) on Wednesday in a neutral site game. They will also have a road game against Berry on Saturday. So, Centre has two game to redeem themselves after a tough loss last week.

Transylvania (DIII) (3-3)
The Pioneers went 1-1 last week as they lost to a tough Connecticut College team 20-5 midweek and then beat Thiel 6-5 on Saturday. This week they will have a home game against Capital on Wednesday and a St. Vincent on Saturday.

Union (NAIA) (0-6)

The Bulldogs continue to struggle as a first year program, but I m confident things will only get better from here. Union had tough losses to Concordia and Madonna last week. The Bulldogs will play Montreat, Lourdes, and Aquinas all on the road this week. This looks to be a very tough week for the Bulldogs.

Univ. of the Cumberlands (NAIA) (6-3)

The Patriots had two road wins last week as they defeated Missouri Valley College 9-8 and Benedictine College 11-8. Cumberlands will take on Montreat on Friday and Columbia (MO) on Saturday. The Patriots are looking for another successful week.
