Bluegrass 6: Week 6

Again, we had a great week of college lacrosse that included some great game in the Bluegrass.
Every team played this week except for Bellarmine who had a bye week. In the NAIA and DIII realm we had some great wins by Kentucky teams. Needless to say, it was a great week of college lacrosse across the Commonwealth.

Asbury (NAIA) (0-3)

The Asbury Eagles had two games this week, #5 Aquinas on Wed., and #4 Indiana Tech on Friday. The Eagles dropped both games and came up 0-2 on the week. They lost to Aquinas by one goal, 10-9. Against Indiana Tach the Eagles lost 13-7. So, it was a tough week in Wilmore,KY. The Eagles will have three games this week and two will be on the road. Asbury will travel down to Georgia to play Point on Tuesday, March 13th and then #1 Reinhardt on Thursday. They will finish off the week with a home game against Madonna.

Bellarmine (DI) (2-4)

I wrote about Bellarmine is my SoCon Report where I talk about all the SoCon teams.
Here that is:
The Bellarmine Knights had a week off after that great win over Marquette that capped off the Midwest Lacrosse Classic. The Knights next opponent will come on Saturday against High Point on the road to start SoCon play.

Centre (DIII) (3-3)

The Colonels had a home game against Carthage on Saturday in which they took a tough loss. The Colonels lost to Carthage 13-8. The Colonels next contest will be on the road at Birmingham Southern on Saturday.

Transylvania (DIII) (2-2)

The Pioneers had two games last week, and they got two wins. Transy went up against Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday, and Bethany on Saturday. On Wednesday the Pioneers got a 10-6 win over Baldwin Wallace at home. Again, at home on Saturday Transylvania got a dominating 21-2 win over Bethany. The next contest for Transylvania will be against Connecticut College in a neutral site game at Johns Hopkins. That will be a tough one as Connecticut College is in the toughest DIII conference, the NESCAC. The Pioneers will finish off their week at Thiel on Saturday.

Union (0-4)

The Bulldogs had a conference match up against #1 Reinhardt on Saturday. That game they ultimately lost by a score of 22-2. A very tough loss to swallow for the Bulldogs. They will be back in action this week as they play Concordia on Tuesday and Madonna on Saturday.

Univ. of the Cumberlands (4-3)

The Patriots had a tough week of lacrosse last week. They took loses to Lourdes on Thursday and #6 Siena Heights on Saturday. They lost to Lourdes 6-5 in overtime, that stings. Their game on Saturday against #6 Siena Heights ended up being a 10-7 loss. The Patriots will play two road games this week. They play Missouri Valley on Wednesday and then Benedictine on Friday. It'll be a week in the midwest for Cumberlands as they will be in Missouri and Kansas.
