Tanner's Top 25: Week 3

 Two blowouts and one upset have the week three rankings shaken up a bit.



    Other teams considered: Towson, Brown, Navy, Richmond, Princeton, Bucknell

25. Sacred Heart (2-1)

   The Pioneers went 1-1 this week but I have been very impressed with how well they have been playing thus far.


24. Jacksonville (1-2)

   The Dolphins had a tough one goal loss at Marquette but they still look really good.

23. Rutgers (2-1)

  Rutgers lost to a very good Army team as they still try to find their footing for a whole game.

22. Colgate (3-0)

  Colgate dominated Binghamton on Tuesday and then beat Cornell on Saturday.

21. Harvard (1-0)

  The Crimson got their season opening win over UMass-Lowell.

20. Syracuse (1-1)

   Syracuse got dominated by Albany in the Dome on Saturday.

19. Johns Hopkins (1-1)

   JHU lost the battle for Charles Street on Saturday in a blowout loss to Loyola.

18. Marquette (1-0)

  Marquette got a good win over Jacksonville on Saturday.

17. Penn (1-0)

 The Quakers beat Michigan in their home and season opener.

16. Georgetown (2-0)

   The Hoyas got two good wins this week.

15. Providence (2-1)

 Providence gets another win and this time over Bryant


14. Yale (0-1)

   Yale fell to Villanova in OT of the Patriot Cup in Texas but it was still the 1st game of the year.

13. Vermont (4-0)

   The Catamounts are 4-0 and rocking! They got a win over Holy Cross 15-3 last weekend.

12. Penn State (2-1)

   Penn State still without Grant Ament was able to get a win over Stony Brook at home.

11. Virginia (2-0)

  UVA defeated Drexel on Saturday as they prepare for High Point on Saturday.

10. North Carolina (3-0)

   The Tar Heels were able to get another win this weekend as they defeated a strong Lehigh team.

9. Villanova (2-0)

     The Wildcats traveled down to Dallas and upset Yale in Overtime of the Patriot cup.

8. Army (3-0)

    Two wind this week against NJIT and Rutgers. The Black Knights D is just dominating.

7. Ohio State (3-0)

    The Buckeyes were able to handle a very good Hofstra team on Saturday.

6. Denver (1-1)

  Despite the loss the Pioneers were able to show the country how great they are. Trevor Baptiste showed the country that he wants the Tewarraton.

5. Notre Dame (1-0)

    With no games this week the Irish will face Richmond on Saturday at home.

4. Maryland (3-0)

   The Terrapins had to squeak by two good teams this week and avoid upsets but they have showed they can win in any fashion.

3. Loyola (1-1)

   Loyola dominated Johns Hopkins in a great rivalry game. Loyola has claimed Charles Street this year and they did so in dominating fashion.

2. Albany (1-0)

  The Great Danes started their season with a dominating 15-3 win over Syracuse in the Carrier Dome. Albany showed that they are for real!

1. Duke (4-0)

     The Blue Devils had a unbelievable comeback win against Denver in Friday night as Justin Guterding is still putting on shows.
