Mid Week Notebook, Loyola Owns Baltimore

Lacrosse All Stars

We have had some really good mid week games this week. One big thing that was decided was who owns Baltimore this year. Loyola was happy to claim that on Wednesday night.

Tuesday Games

   Fairfield vs Hartford
Hartford took this game by a score of 16-11 as they got back on track after a weekend loss. Fairfield still only has one win on the season.

   UMass vs Yale
Yale was able to take this game 13-10 as they still showed that they need more than just Ben Reeves to lead that team. UMass almost pulled an upset and surprised most. I continue to stay off the Yale wagon.

  Georgetown vs Mount St. Mary's
Georgetown won 16-6 and just improved their stock. Mount St. Mary's still needs to work on a few things before they can get anther mid week upset.

   Villanova vs Drexel
In this Philly Special the underdog almost won. Drexel played very well and it looked like they were going to pull out the upset. Villanova made a late pus and took this game 12-9 to stay undefeated.

   Bryant vs Boston U.
Boston U. won 8-7 in overtime. Boston U. wins their second OT game this year and Bryant showed some light but still couldn't pull off the upset.

Stony Brook vs Hofstra
This game was a blowout as Hofstra won 14-2. Hofstra gets back in the groove. Stony Brook goes back to the drawing board as they are having a rough year.

Wednesday Games

   North Carolina vs Mercer
North Carolina was able to handle Mercer as they won 14-7. UNC shows how dominant they can be and you can see how young Mercer is and how much they need to improve.

Loyola vs Towson
The best mid week game was a battle in Baltimore. Loyola won this one 12-8 as their offense was stellar. Towson showed some really good signs but they just aren't the same team from last year, especially on offense. Loyola now owns Baltimore as they have beaten Hopkins and Towson.
