Bluegrass 6: Week 3

Another interesting week in college lacrosse that included play from teams across the Bluegrass.

Asbury (NAIA)

The Eagles will open their season this Friday at home against #9 SCAD Savannah (GA)

  Bellarmine  (DI) (1-2)

I wrote about Bellarmine in my SoCon Report post so here is that snippet.

Bellarmine had two games this week. Tuesday they traveled to Michigan and they played at home against Cleveland State on Saturday. The Knights went 1-2 on the week as they lost 9-7 to Michigan in Ann Arbor and they defeated Cleveland State 13-9 to get their first win of the season. Ian Miller is back from injury so that should really help the Knights offense moving forward. Also, Bellarmine seems to be gelling well now and getting into the groove of things. They had a ton of energy on Saturday despite the awful weather.

Centre (DIII) (2-1)

Centre had a huge victory on Saturday. The Colonels downed Mount St. Joseph's 18-0! Despite the snowy conditions the Colonels caught fire and buried Mount St. Joseph's. Centre looked to a whole host of guys on offense as they seemed to share the sugar very well. One guy that I want to point out is a local product out of Louisville,KY. Freshman Padraic Dermody had 1 assist, 1 ground ball, and 3 caused turnovers. Really happy to see that from him. The Colonels next contest will be on Saturday at Hanover (IN).

Transylvania (DIII) (0-1)

The Pioneers do not have another game until March 3rd when they take on Sewanee at home. The Pioneers took their day off on Saturday and put in some work around the community.

Union (NAIA) (0-1)

The Bulldogs will have their 2nd all-time contest against University of Michigan -Dearborn at home on Saturday.

University of the Cumberlands (NAIA) (0-1)

The Patriots will have their second contest of the season at home on Saturday against #9 SCAD Savannah (GA).
