NLL Preview: Saskatchewan Rush

Welcome back to another NLL Team preview. This is now our 8th team preview so we have one more left. Today we are going to preview the Saskatchewan Rush. This is a very good a well coached team that has been to the finals for 3 years straight and are looking to make it back. Let's dig in shall we.

  Overview
The Rush have been dominant over the past three seasons. They won a championship in Edmonton and then moved to Saskatchewan to win another. Last year they made it to the finals but then were beaten by a very equally strong Georgia Swarm team. The Rush still have a stacked team and will be looking for 4th trip to the finals this season. I think that could happen and most likely will happen with how much talent this team has.
Saskatchewan will start their journey back to the finals on December 16th when they travel to Toronto to take on the Rock. These two teams both made the playoffs last season and have strog teams so it should be a good game.

Key Players

Ryan Keenan
Position: Forward
#25

Ryan Keenan was a rookie last season after being selected #1 overall by his father and Rush head coach/GM,  Derek Keenan. Ryan was very good for the Rush last season and was able to contribute a ton to the team. Ryan finished the season with 13 goals, 29 assist, and 42 overall points. Ryan is looking to being a main guy agin this season and to help lead them back to the championship.

Jeremy Thompson
Position: Transition
#72

Jeremy is one of Lacrosse's own Thompson family. If that doesn't say enough I don't know what will. Jeremy is the only one of his brothers that so not play for the Swarm, who beat the Rush for the championship last year. Jeremy has been a big contributor especially at the face-off dot. Thompson went 225-418 in Face-off's last season. While that number does not look too good but you have to remember that in Box you can always get a loose ball. Thompson was able to grab 179 of those last season which is pretty good. Thompson will be a big key to their success this season as he has been in the past.
